Herbal Tea refers to any tea that is not derived from the Camellia sinensis plant (tea bush), but are still infused and consumed like “tea”. Herbal teas can be made with herbs, flowers, roots, spices, seeds and or other parts of plants that are steeped with boiling water, strained and consumed. Some of the most commonly known herbal teas include peppermint, lemongrass, fennel and chamomile. Herbal tea can also be referred to as tisane or ptisan. Herbal teas are often consumed for medicinal purposes, but are just as good to drink on the merit of taste.
